If it's the beaches you want, my favourites are Vagator and Ashwem in the north while it is Utorda and Benaulim in the south.

If it's culture you want, then check out the churches of Old Goa and the temples not too far from there at Mangueshi.

If it's some places off the beaten track then go to Arvalem waterfalls and rock cut temple cave nearby (north Goa), Ancestral Goa at Bigfoot, Loutolim (south Goa)

If it's shopping you want, then it's Mapusa Friday market, Anjuna flea market on wednesday (very touristy with prices to match - closed for the monsoon), Panjim and Margao.

You can get to any of these places by taxi or with a rented bike or car.

Foxes, wild boars and migratory birds are found in the jungles of Goa. The avifauna includes kingfishers, mynas and parrots. Numerous types of fish are also caught off the coast of Goa and in its rivers. Crabs, lobsters, shrimps, jellyfish, oysters and catfish form some of the piscine catch. Calangute and Baga beach - its on a single stretch with lots of water sport activities all through the day
Old goa - a few churches to c der
Panjim - for ferry rides and shopping
Agunda fort
Dodhsagar falls :)

I prefer Karnataka over Goa. Unless you want to loose your mind at some beachparty, then Goa is the place...

Depends what you like>
if it is Beaches, go way to the Top, like Tirakol fort, Morjim etc.
If it is the mountains Doodhsagar is a good bet with the Devils Canyon which we renamed angels canyon.
The south palolem is a better bet than the northern crowded areas. Panjim, Magoa and mapusa is good for shopping especially for a beachy shirt.
