Mandu in 7 hrs. There are night bus services to Khajuraho taking 11 hrs for the trip. Buses ply to Bhopal from Ahmedabad, Baroda, Nagpur and Jaipur. M P Tourism's A/c bus takes the passengers of Shatabdi at 8-45 at Bus Std & 14-30 from RIy Stn to go. to Indore in 4 hrs.

The city was founded by Bhuj, the Parmar king, in the 11th century and named after him. Bhopal is derived from Bhuj + pal. The Afghan chief, Dost Muhammad Khan, a solÂdier at the Mughal durbar, killed someone and had to leave Delhi. He came near BhopÂal and took up a job as an overseer. A little later, he killed the Rajput king, defeated the governor of Bhilsa, and entered Bhopal in triumph. It was Muhammad Khan who founded the modern city of Bhopal in the latÂter half of the 16th century |
