Never trust a stranger, no matter how genuine he looks and sounds.
Keep your money, in different places. Don't keep all of it together in one place.
Don't go to lonely places.
Don't try something new and illegal.
Carry contact numbers of family back home.
Be very careful with your Passport and other documents.
Stay in a decent place.
Keep your wits about you.

Been to Goa 6 times on my own! Made friends really quickly - some i'll always keep in touch with...
Going Mexico on my own next , then Malasia , Singapore , Bali - can't wait
Just don't do anything stupid - coz you are a fish out of water!...finding other GOOD fish is sometimes hard , but the other tourists do stick together - you have to really :-)
Enjoy Nepal - you lucky thing!!!
Should be beautiful...the world is your oyster - don't let anything stop you even if you have some bad experiences - there's no such place as paradise (problem free i mean!)
PS I don't agree with no. 16 above!!!

Bring protection (as in like a gun..)
Not a lot of money
Make sure you tell family when and where you are going and when you should be back and if not call for help..
You don't wanna end up like the people in Hostal!

1.I would get a detail map of the country I m gonn visit

2. Look for a book about customs, traditions, landmarks, society or just look at the Internet.

3. I would get a book or summary about main sentences to communicate with people on Nepal, Bring a dictionary with u.

4. Make a reservation for your hotel on line and write down phone numbers, address and number of ur reservation, ask the hotel managet to send an employee for u at the aiport so u wont get lost.

5. Search on the net about the currency dollar with the local coin and dont forget to bring a calculator so nobody would take advantage with u .

6 Bin with u at least a copy of ur passport and id and a copy of ur plane ticket so, u can store the original ones at a safe place at the hotel and when u go out take the copies with u .

7. Never show a lot of money in public, ipods, cams, viceo cams, etc so you wot get robbed.

8. if u need to exchange dollars for the local coin ask at the hotel if they can buy u the dollars

9. If you need a cab ask the hotel administration to get u one.

10. If the hotel refers u a tour guide its better if you take the tour.

11. Search on the internet the Emergency numbers from the US Embassy in Nepal

12. Tell your parents, parents and friends the address you are gonna stay and for how long are you going to stay there,if its possible give them phone numbers.

13. Fill the blanks in ur passport with pencil about the place u r gonna visit and the contact name emergency and phone number just in case something happen to u

14. In some countries, the US embassy offer info online to the tourist and u can also fill a form letting know the embassy u r going to visit the country.

15.Just drink bottle water and avoid eating food from stand in the streets

16. Never go to a bar, club by yourself

17.If its possible keep in touch with family , friends etc to let them know you are safe.

I hope this helps

Have a safe trip
