Yes Bangladesh was an integral part of India.

Bangladesh and West Bengal are together be called as the Bengal province. During 1947 country division, the East Bengal got named as East Pakisthan and the West Bengal retained its same name.

When India was partitioned in 1947, Bengal was partitioned along religious lines, with the western part going to India and the eastern part joining Pakistan as a province called East Bengal (later renamed East Pakistan), with its capital at Dhaka.

Yes , Bangladesh was a part of India. When India was partitioned , Bangladesh had the name East-Pakistan.

Yes it was, before partition in 1947. From then till 1971, it was part of Pakistan and called East Pakistan.

Be speacific to your question, Yes. Till the end of British Rule in India there were no separate countries like Pakistan, Bangla Desh, India. But all that were Indian sub continent. But when British left India, the country was split into two, The West & East Pakistan (one) and India.

This position remained till year 1971 (i.e West Pakistan and East Pakistan). In the year, 1972 Indian and United Pakistan had a War and during the process, Pakistan lost the war and surrendered during which the united Pakistan was split and the long standing demand for a separate territory for EASTERN PART formed as a result a New Country called BANGLA DESH was raised. When the British ruled the Indian Empire, there was no Bangladesh or Pakistan. After 1947, India was split into 3 portions - India, Pakistan and East Pakistan (now called Bangladesh). In 1972, India and Pakistan had a war. India conqured Pakistan and gave the country to the local people, who named their country Bangladesh.
