Weather in December in Delhi?
I'm from the U.S. and I have not been back to India for 12 years and I want to go to New Delhi and Meerut, India in December-early Jan during my school's winter vacation. I am not sure if December is a good time to go because I've heard that it gets really cold. Is the weather too cold to handle during December? Can someone advise me?
Delhi winters are cold. The mercury is known to touch 4 degrees Celsius, and dips to 2 degrees at least once in the season.
Winters is the best time to visit Delhi and Merrut. Any other season would be too warm for you to handle. You could go out during the day which is wonderful with the sun to warm you up.
I miss the Delhi winters.

Yes it is between 4 to 12 degrees. but last time it reached to 2-3 degrees. Even Mumbai which never fall below 12 to 15 this time it falled to 6 degree. Climate is showing drastic changes in recent years. Even in this end march south india had floaded with extrem rain. Best of luck of ur journey.

if u reside in US of A den m sure u wudn't have any problem visitin delhi during dec-jan. The weather wud be anywhere between 2 degree centigrade and 7 degree centigrade during the night. during day it's little warmer but still cold for us people but cud be pleasant for u.

The weather in Dec/Jan is the best in this region. It is cold but not cold as in the US or Europe. There is no wind chill as in North America.
You will need a jacket and a blanket at night.

No Not at all. When I went to India, it was only cold in the morning(before 10am) In the Afternoon and evening the temperature ranges from 50 to 80 degrees I think. I live in America and I go to India Often. I live in North India So it is cooler than New Delhi People in India usually think it is cold because the temperature is so warm throughout the year the temperature does not seem warm to them but it seems warm for us Usually in Febuary or late december to end of March it is very cold like 20 - 40 degrees
