What's best mode to travel from Kanyakumari to Rameshwaram? Taxi or Bus? how much time do they take and when is the last bus in the eveninng from kanyakumari to rameshwaram?
Bus would be preferable as they are safe. The frequency is good, The journey should take about 6 Hrs. Normal route is Kanyakumari - Madurai - Rameswaram. Thought there is a shorter route is available, it is not advisable as the road is not good.
There are frequent bus service through out the day from Kanyakumari - Madurai and Madurai - Rameswaram. Thoug direct service is not that much frequent.
Suggest contact SETC office at Kanyakumari who will give you a better idea.

While travelling b y taxi will be expensive, tgravelling by bus will be mroe economical. There are many tour operators at Kanyakumari who operate daily services from Kanyakumari to Rameshwaram. The tour will cover visit to Madurai Meenakshi temple also.

The best mode will be the BUS. I would suggest go to maduari first and from there visit both Kanyakumari and Rameswarm. There are plenty of tours available from local tour operators for both the places. There is a direct route as well from kanyakumari to Rameswarm but that's long.
