India is a very beautiful country. It has a lot of famous landscape like Tiger Hill (third largest mountain). Or Mt. Everest largest mountain. It also is a travelers heaven! Lots of great spice food!

Well let me tell you all about it:

I'm a 21 year old american male who is actually looking to go over to India and study at a university there. I have only love for the great country of India. Its majesty is vast and the people are loving, fascinating and very generous. I spent 2.5 weeks there last april and it was quite a trip. That being said there are good and bad things about india:

If you have a weak stomach or are afraid of getting dirt under your nails then india is NOT for you. Every day I was there I got dirt under my nails, there were flies EVERYWHERE in the temples. There is trash all over the streets and cows walking hither and thither wherever they please (I have nothing against cows, mind you) but they poop wherever they please.

Corruption is another big problem. When we were on a train in Punjab a train official walked over and started yelling at us as we were sitting in the wrong seat. We had to bribe him for him leave us alone or he would have called the police.

Driving is extremely dangerous in india! Everywhere you go you'll see large trucks toppled overe and honking your horn is a common way of letting someone know you're about to fly past them (I drove with some indians, that was pretty interesting, let me tell you!)

now some positives:

The Indian people are SO kind hearted. Wherever I went I was greeted with smiling faces and enquiring minds. I made a few friends there who are very interested in learning English in exchange for some more Hindi lessons for me (as I am studying Hindi, the official language of India). I actually met the coolest young guy who had never seen a white person before and it only took about an hour for me to reach the height of a god in his eyes. He hung on my every word.

The temples and landscapes can be breath taking! If you have ever seen the rolling golden wheat fields of Punjab or the beautiful mountains of Jammu you'll lose your breath. There are holy sites everywhere, many different temples and Gurudwaras devoted to many different Gods and Goddesses.

If you ever get a chance to go you should definitely take it. Totally different from our western way of life.

India is a great country.very beautiful,very kind,very religious,very musical & very traveling.The only problem is Corruption & Politics.Remove all the corrupted Politicians except some & India will world's strongest,most beautiful country.

NAMASTE . I have lived in India for 11 years and I can say that Milo Boy has given an excellent and precise account of India.
I hope that inspires you to come.
But I'll say one more thing, although not able to say it perfectly but: India is an ancient country. Not only it's history is fascinating but it's culture is Deep!
Especially it's religious culture and the ancient literature from which the deepest forms of meditation, yoga, Ayurveda etc have come.
I have spent a long time in Holy cities and to take part in the way of life here is just amazing. More than that, itâ€™s auspicious meaning it will definitely improve your life.
Many of the people who stay in these places have such a deep meditative peaceful happiness and joyousness. Who can explain it? I always want to dive deeper into the culture. But what he says about the difficulties are also true. You just have to accept that the difficulties can be a lesson for you. If you feel you want to understand the ways of the Indian people and how to be as loving as many of them are, you may have to learn a few lessons like patience and tolerance OMG
