It's based on your interests. First thing: Buy Outlook - Weekend Getaways/Destinations - From bangalore. This book will cost you INR 100/-. You can buy this book any of the book shops (Brigade Road:/ Crossword; Kormangala: LandMark; MG Road: Gangarams). Check for retail price on the back cover. You don't have to pay more than that even if asked. You can find this book in small shops that sell magazine and books as well. Look for Magazine/Newspaper display when you walk down the road. Since you didn't mention your interests, some general ideas: Architectural: (Weekend) Itineray1: Halebidu, Belur, Shravanabelegola Itineray2: Mysore, ShivanaSamudram Temples: (weekend) Itineray1: Udupi, Kollur, Dharmasala Itineray2: Shringeri, Udupi Itineray3: Thiruvannamalai, Pondicherry Beaches: Weekend Itineary1: Mangalore, Udupi Itineray2: Pondicherry, Tamilnadu Itineray3: Goa Itineray4: Chennai Daytrip: Nandihills or Mysore Have more than two days: Jog Falls Konkan Railways There are also birdwatching, river rafting trips. Not sure about the destination name. The outlook guide can help you. Looking for some local pubbing/dance Unwind in ringroad between Marthahalli and HSR layout. Enjoy and Have Fun! |

I'm from America too in Mississippi and I was there on internship for 4 weeks and on the weekends i travelled. I went to Nandi Hills which was pretty cool. Mysore has some good placed to visit, like Tipu Sultan's summer palace and other things of his from a long time ago which is cool. Halibeedu and Belura has some cool 1000 year old temples which are very interesting. If you want to know about just the sculptures in those temples it would take like 3 days. Um..also if you're interested in the religious side, you should read up about a guy named Satya Sai Baba. He resides in Puttaparthi and ppl from around the world come to see him for his Darshans. If you want the name of a very nice and good driver that will take you anywhere reply to me at masterp17212000@yahoo.com. I liked him alot so I got him to take me on a seven day road trip just around South India and had a great time. |

Well there is a lot that you can do and see in Bangalore. I am from Mumbai and have been there a couple of times, I am a rock fan and I like to hang out at the styx. Its a nice rock pup, similar to Hard Rock Cafe. Its worth a visit. Else if you are a travel freak you can visit a lot of scenic waterfalls around the city. Its also worth it in this rainy season. |

I cannot really give you many suggestions for what to do in Bangalore, but a weekend trip to Mysore would be amazing. I'm an American teen, but I have been to India six times and I always go to Mysore. It's just a wonderful city. You would also have to make sure to go on a sunday, for every sunday, the Mysore Palace is lit up with Christmas-style lights...the bulbs dot the Palace over...its simply amazing. (do a google images search) sorry if this didn't really answer your question on Bangalore, but the trip from Bangalore to Mysore is only two hours by train and the trip is definitely worth it. |
