hey ravish..
well it depends on the type of mood you want to be in is it something romantic or with yourself, places like Jaipur, Udaipur, Pushkar in Rajasthan are just fantastic!! You not only enjoy with your loved ones or your own company but you also get to witness the colours of India and its ethnicity and the royal heritage. You can also visit Kerela in that case and enjoy the backwaters, food and a peaceful aurra there But if you only want to party and enjoy, go Goa, Mumbai and Delhi, these are the places that really rock!! You can access all the hotel booking info or the tour packaged plan at RetailsDirect. I had planned my last trip to Udaipur with them and touchwood, it was an experience of heaven !! Absolutely PERFECT !! You can also visit : http://www.retailsdirect.com/TravelHotels/jsp/Travel.aspx if you wish to enjoy it completely and celebrating a holiday!! So, all the best dear, I hope by now you'd be able to decide where to head to??

Visit the Golden temple in Amritsar. That's the most ultimate shrine for people of Sikh community and is supposed to be a beautiful place and also one of the highest visited by tourists and domestic travelers alike. You might want to check out Rajasthan and experience the true lifestyle of the Kings. That's what Rajasthan is known for with the tourists. A culturally rich and a naturally picturesque part of the country. Also since you're planning to visit in summer, if you're up for it, try looking out on the web for some great trekking trips which will happen around the same time. All this is in the northern part of the country. If you don't wish to trek, try checking out Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) and maybe Eastern part of the country. I've still not even started mentioning about Central, Western and Southern India (Mumbai (formerly Bombay), Pune, Chennai (formerly Madras), Hyderabad, Ahemdabad, Bengaluru (formerly Banglore)). It all depends on how much time are you going to be visiting the country for and what sort of places would you like to visit. Also not to forget states of Goa and Kerala which are complete tourist destinations in themselves. Goa would be the best to visit in summer, although monsoon is the best time to visit Kerala.

Hope that helps.

Manish :)

Buddy
Your itinerary is quite good but I suggest you add Golden Temple of Amritsar + nearby hills of the north India like Dalhousie, Dharamsala/McLeodgunj, Chamba & the shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi near Jammu too if u r religious..
