If you can postpone your trip (this time of year is warm, wet and sticky) it would be a better solution but if not then I would suggest you go to the mountain region e.g. Kashmir or neighbouring Nepal;
or you could travel the "Triangle" Dehli, Agra (+ Fatepursihkri), Jaïpur;
or visit Rajasthan which is a state where there is sooooo much to admire and visit in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, etc : nature, palaces, musea, local markets, festivals, cities, etc...
Check out the Oberoi hotels and especially the Rajvilas hotel in Jaipur. Perfect for honeymooners if......you get the right discount. We were privileged to stay there : just bliss!
Enjoy your honeymoon because India has so much to offer.

Here is the name of a very reliable travel agency (they planned Belgium's Crown Prince's honeymoon) that can advise you. It doesn't mean you have to book via them but at least you'll get reliable advice and info : ct.india@creative.sprintrpg.ems.vsnl.net... (Mr. Rajeev Kohli),
fax .: 011 6885886 or 6889764
They may well have a website too but I can't help you there.

North India has many beautiful places to visit but Jammu Kashmir and Sikkim are the best bcoz both these destination lies at the foothills of himalayas and hence climate is wonderful in the month of August. You can plan your trip to these destinations.
You can Visit:

http://www.sikkimhotravel.com
for detail info of these destinations and also for online booking and tour packages.

Take delayed honeymoon.

It is monsoon in India and travelling can get hectic.

If you must then find places close to the home base or home.

Or go to Jammu/Kashmir area, or other real cool northern India, area.

Delhi Agra are very hot so Taj Mahal and Kutumb minnar are not recommended.
