In the month of May? In South India? Of course, like every one else, I am tempted to say ooty, Kodaikanal, etc. But these places are worth the visit only because they are slightly cooler than the rest of South India. But, unless you are a senior citizen, you won't want to spend a whole month in these places, since there is not much cultural or social activity there. Wherever you are in the south of India in May, stay home ( preferably in the cool comfort of an A/C room if possible), visit all your local friends and relatives and catch up on all your readings! Better still, hire an a/c car and visit all the important temple cities and other cultural//historical spots, and stay in an a/c hotel room near the site of visit. |

May is a hot month in summers, so stay away from tropical land.
Visit hillstations - Coorg, Ooty, KodaiKanal, Munnar.
Kindly avoid places like Andamans, Tanjavur, Madurai,

The whole of south India would be very hot and Humid. Normally people head to the hills . There are several option. Tamilnadu has its famous hill stations like Ooty, Kodaikanal and Yercard. Karnataka has a wide range of places in the western ghats. Kemnagudi , Mercara, B.R Hills , Cauvery fishing camp, Nagarhole wildlife park. Please try out jungle lodges and resorts. Wildventures a bangalore based company is also good. I used them. |
