If you want to trvel to indian tourist spots then july august is not the right time as the south west monsoon is active from june to september.Due to heavy monsoon rains you will not be able to move and see the places you want to visit.since you can not stand too hot weather you should visit india during November to februaru when the climate is excellent.
Places to visits are goa for the beaches kerala for backwaters Rajsthan for the palaces and forts agra for tajmahal delhi for red fort and other historical monuments.Khajuraho and Konark for the tantra temples. Mount Abu for the beautiful jain temples.shimla auli shrinagar munnar ooty kodaikanal mussuri darjiling and gagtok are the hill stations |

It's off-season so things will be pretty cheap.

Hi Amy
The best choice of travel during this peiord will be Kerala, considering two reasons:
1) Its off seaon and you get A class deal with hotels
2) Its absilutely not hot at all beeing monsoon
And if you dont bother about the rain, then nothing better than this destination. You can try some ayurvda to rejuvenate.
