Well that’s not Bombay now the city is now known as Mumbai and New Delhi is just a region in Delhi.
You can visit places like Qutab Minar, India Gate, Akshardham Temple, Birla Temple, Lotus Temple, Chhattarpur Temple, Asola Wildlife Century, Tughlaqabad Fort, Sultanpur Bird Century, Connaught Place, Khan Market, Lodhi Fort, Humayun Tomb, President House, Parliament House, Supreme Court, High Court, Safdarjang Fort, India Gate and Delhi Metro Rail in New Delhi.
In Old Delhi you can visit places like Chandni Chowk, Jama Masque and Red Fort and suburbs like Gurgaon and Noida
I don’t know much about Mumbai because I haven’t been there but you can visit places like Gateway of India, Mumbai CST, Elephanta Caves, High Court, Beaches and many more happening places in both the cities like malls and museums. |

Depends on your interests. For Monuments check out Humayun's tomb, Qutub Minar, the Red Fort, Jama Masjid in Delhi. In Mumbai, the best monuments are at places which you would least think of visiting...the Victoria Terminus, the High Court and the area around. If you have time, take a trip off the mainland of Mumbai and go see the Elephanta Caves.
For food, Karim's near Jama Masjid in Delhi is an experience. Its also well known so should not be hard to find. Otherwise check out the Paharganj area which is a backpackers paradise and most of the restaurants serve very good food. Sam's cafe, Momo cave are some suggestions. If you like Tibetan food, you can go to this place called Majnu ka Tilla. There is a Tibetan colony with a lot of flourishing Tibetan restaurants.
I can't help you much with food in Mumbai. I haven't been there long enough, sorry.
Have a nice trip. |

In Delhi, I will definitely recommend Akshardham (http://www.akshardham.com/index.htm) temple. It's an amazing monument. You may give the exhibitions (hall of values, movie, and boat ride) a miss but don't miss the musical fountain.
As for the historical monuments: Red Fort, Qutub Minar are quite famous but there is nothing much left in Red Fort now and you can't go up on Qutub Minar (it was closed, I think in 1979, after many school children died in an accident). There is a light and sound show in the Red Fort in the evening (I haven't seen it but it is supposed to be "not bad").
India Gate and surrounding area (Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament, which you can only see from outside) are worth visiting once.
Lotus Temple is quite popular but apart from it's architecture/shape there is nothing else.
For markets and food, Connaught Place (CP) is a good place to spend some time. Gurgaon and Noida are famous for India's new found mall mania. |
