Every country has something to like. All it needs is an interest or inclination to learn.
India is a vast country having great diversification of people, life style, culture, festivals, monuments and what not!
It was civilized long before many western countries.
No doubt, there are many problems for us in India but that does not dilute the greatness which is developed over the period starting from pre-historic tiime.
You can choose depending on your interest a variety of things in which India is great, likable, lovable, enjoyable and livable. |

India hates me!
i went there when i was 13 years old and got really sick and vomitted on the Taj Mahal!
even though i was sick the entire time, i wont lie...the most BEAUTIFUL place i visited was Manali id say its heaven on Earth!
Simla wasnt as beautiful nor was Mt. Abu but another thing i enjoyed was the presence of art that seemed to envelope entire roads and streets! the bright colors the beautiful saris, churidars etc! i fell in love with the place! impeccable detail of art and color everywhere!!
there was an explosion of culture here! so vast, so pure!!
though i wasnt born or raised there, i come from an indian background! (Gujarati!) i say with a true heart...Proud to be Indian!!

Landing in India... there is that smell that rushes back every memory of every moment spent in this unfathomable land. In one moment, a bit of fear; oh gosh... what have I gotten myself back into... in the same moment... I am so happy to be home (away from home, of course).
Communication... barriers... taxi, how much to Kasturinagar? What? It is daytime... you can not charge double meter... where's the police? I am not a ferengi (foreigner)... I live here! Ohhhkay... Ohhhhkay madame.... meter... meter...
Roadways... congestion, pot holes, horns, yelling, ox-carts, oxen, cows, street dogs, goats, produce carts, bicycles, goods carriers, busses, auto rickshaws, cars, vans, scooters, motorcycles, pedestrians, beggars, sellers (flowers, food, etc.)... windows down, or open air travel... warm wind on your face... sun shining...
Windows with misquito mesh... open 24/7... fans on... warmth... breeeze... clanking of steel vessels all around... sellers shouting from the street below... voices from homes... horns honking... vehicles travelling... people shouting...
One moment from a nervous break-down... one moment from the reason you love being here... crazy... beautiful... wonderful...
Life... always life... so much of it... all of the time...
Then there's the village... my favorite.... |
