I think you are really a stranger to India. Who said that dalits are treated badly in India?

They were treated very badly about 60-70 years back. Several leaders like E.V.Ramaswamy Naicker, Kanshilal, and many others, have brought up the dalits to great advance ment in life. Only the old timers are still in the fear phobia but the younger generations in a more advanced stage. It is for the Government to take further steps to bring up the standard of life of dalit. Everywhere they get the reservatio quota from school, colleage, Govt. jobs, etc. etc.-

well this is true but only in some parts, very few actually. its all history, us indians dont change what we learned from our god, which was to be nice to all human kind. but have u guys ever treated us fairly? look at the us, ppl are being sent to jail because they are brown.

in response to human, I think you make some very wide and inaccurate comments. Yes there is a great deal of discrimination in the West (I am white and British), however certain countries have problems of illegal immigration so a more thorough check is required. I feel the same (like a criminal) when I go to the US. I went to Australia and being a single traveller was stopped and questioned and detained for about 30 mins. I seem to always be picked for a random search. When i wear a suite in a shop I seem to get better treatment. There is racism out there, but I think your observations are a little extreme. An to the question asker, sorry i can't help

let me tell u , especially if u are a westerner, that how do u treat an indian or paki or bangladeshi. ?
at any international airport in europe there are separate entry points with minimum formalities for westerners , and rigorous checking for asians more so for indians.
westerners practise untouchablility in the form of skin colour. an asian indian is deemed black, and treated inferior.
so , similarly in india too there are communities that treat dalits as lower class.
treatment of people by class, colour exists as much in the western world as in india. Atleast in india, the Govt gives u a quota so u can escape poverty and make a better life. But western treatment of indians based on skin colour never changes.
i feel westerners are more hypocritical and should look inwards first.
