Passort is not required by Indians. You can take a Indian Airlines flight. You could also go by road. There is a definite entry into Nepal from Gorakhpur.
Indian Currency can be used in Nepal. Lovely place for shopping for clothes. |

For Indians, visa is not required for entering Nepal. But you would need to produce a photo identity card and fill out a simple form while entering that country. Your passport, PAN card, college ID card (with photo) etc. will be fine. You can carry Indian currencies - it is accepted in Nepal. Only do not carry any Rs. 500/- notes. Nepalis fear that most of the Indian Rs. 500/- notes are fake, so they don't accept them. While you return from Nepal, you have to pay a exit fee of about Rs. 1000/- so keep some money handy while returning. Again, no Rs. 500/- notes please.
Enjoy Nepal. |

You need a temporary visa, that they make you at the airport, you pay a government tax when you leave Nepal.
It is forbidden to use Indian rupee to buy things there, yu should exchange money into Nepali Rupees, but you can do it there, in appropriate money changers, note: they are less valued than Indian rs.
I have been to Kathmandu in January, as a tourist, too.
Good luck |

No passport or visa is required for an Indian to enter Nepal. Only an identity proof is required.
But be careful when returning - at times you are required to prove that you are an Indian at the time re-entering India. So the safest bet is to carry your Indian passport. |

No visa required for Indian citizen for Nepal.
Just carry your voter i-card in case you do not have a passport.
If going by air to Nepal the voter i-card is as good as a passport. When you fill embarkation / disembarkation forms just mention voter i-card number in place passport number.
If going by road than voter i-card shall prove helpful. |

It is legal. If you are Indian, visa not compulsory. Passport is necessary for going out of country. |

It seems you are not an Indian National. In that case you will require VISA to enter into Nepal. |
