I won't bother sayng anything, since I'm Indian myself :)
But I'm glad so many people love the country ^^
You should surely make sure it's on your lists of where to go :D

Though iam myself an Indian and love my country as much as anybody else does. My view is that India has lot of culture which they obviously should be proud of.... but i also think they need to develope a lot more. Means....all the people who r smart and talented are leaving India for various reasons.... one being Job. So there is a lot of chance for India to develope if they gave these people a chance to show wat they can do.

This is also my personal opinion... Indian government need to change.... Younger.. less corrupted and more talented people are needed. The only thing happening right now is that... the people with political power are only filling their bags with money. They dont really seem to care abt proper developments. And also they need to stick to certain rules... for eg the closing of so called "DANCE BARS" in Mumbai.... i think they should stick to it, which now they r planning to let go. Well when they closed they should have had a proper alternative as well for the girl working there... which they didnt and has resulted in reopening of these bars.
Anyway... people around the world are advancing in various ways... but y is it that when India does something people from other countries say Indian are apeing or copying or watever?????

And as a hoilday destination...... its great there... u have so much of variety from food to clothing to climatic conditions. It's all there in India. But i think we Indians should promot India the way it is culturally....we should offer the people from abroad something they havent seen, never experienced nor they will, in other words a pure form of our culture.. rather than giving just a beach or just a hill resort.

If u decieded to come to India take India the way it is rather than expecting things to be of ur style.... since Indians think u want it all in ur style... which cud be American, European, etc, etc. Coz i know when i go to a country.... iam going to that particular place to see something different and not my own culture. I want to see that country as It is.. coz i choose to go there.

Ok.... i dont even know if i answered ur Question.... but u know wat these are my views. And since i started answering here in Yahoo Q&A, i saw that people have very bad idea abt India and that Indians were promoting India in a wrong manner. But seeing the answers from others here for ur question iam happy. Especially knowing that people wanna see India... i believe they will not expect to see sky scrapers, hi-fi roads, or anything such as that. Yes thanks to few medias which show some good stuffs abt India other than just their issues with the neigbhouring countries.

India has a very unique culture and a fascinating history. I am always so happy when I see that National Geographic has a story about India! The pictures are beautiful. The Indian customs seem interesting, and the scenery appears to be beautiful. The cities seem to be poor in some areas, but I think that applies to the every city also. I may be going to India next year, and I cannot wait!

I have a friend who lives there. I want to go there one day and visit him. India is a very intresting county and they have alot of culture.

INDIA is incredible.Its a HEAVEN,where you can see all the situations of the world together.There are hot deserts,cold Himalayan Mountains,3 main Lullaby Seas.Its there where you can see UNITY IN DIVERSITY.Many languages,many cultures,many different people,many religion and many more.No one can see this anywhere.All Indians are lucky to have a birth in this place.One should visit India at least 1 time in his/her life.Good Luck
