If you do not like to wear Saree or Churidar, you can wear Pants/Jeans and top. No problem.

if you go to temples it is preferable to pavadai or davani,if ur going to parties or marraige u can wear dreeses which r comfortable,if ur going to public meetings or functions it is preferable to wear fully covered drees such as chudi or full jean and kurta or long top.

you can wear anything that isnt too revealing (for your own convenience). i usually wear casual jeans/tops, even short skirts sometimes. but u must try kurtas/salwars cos ull see they're actually quite comfy!

Jeans, tops, traditional skirts, western style skirts, salwar-kameez - anything you are comfortable with.
Don't go with the South is Ultra conservative : stereotype.
