OK to answer your question generally Indian mores, culture, etc,. do not lend themselves to the creation of night life as you are used to in the West. Wild swinging modern clubs may exist in some parts of New Delhi(and particularly Mumbi) but I tend to doubt that you would recognize them.
In my opinion the best night life (close to what we have in the west) would be found in Munbi. But I am afraid you would find these places a bit sleazy.
There might be some clubs in better hotels but usually they are subdued drinking and full of men.
My idea of night Llife in India is going to Puskar (a really beautiful place that looks like it 's stuck in the sixties as far as the westerners are concerned. Plenty of Westerners partying in Puskar (near Asjmir in Rajasthan.) Allot of 'puff the magic dragon' kind of goings on and Rock music. Puskar (short of Goa) is major party place for Westerners in India.
I go to Puskar every year and love it. Shopping is no better anywhere in India for a westerner (this is a town that understands western taste.) Although I'm not one for party going, I've hung around the Ghats (step to a lake or man made lake) late at night and enjoyed the festive atmosphere.
Goa is another party place....but parties just sort of spring up ad hock at various places and are not held in clubs. "Hey dude we having a big bash after the Goa flea market in that field....just ask around."
I went to a party in 1989 and had to much to drink in Goa. (I rarely drink but when I do I overdo it). And I started playing with uncooked Cashews nuts, big mistake. The fluid in uncooked cashews is a very, very powerful skin irritant..I litterly turned purple in many places and puffed up like the 'dough boy'. I spent 3 days in bed in agony. 'The wages of sin' I guess.
Well that's all I can think of right now.
E-mail me I can give name of a wealthy friend in Delhi who will know, if anybody does. He was an occasional drinking buddy with the previous Prime Minister of India.

You might find some modern clubs (as mentioned below) in Bangalore..very modern progressive city. Just the name of the city invokes wild nights...like Bangkok!

party, night life... Goa is into trance, but in monsoon you wont get any crowds there. So, one and only other place for night life in India... Mumbai. It rocks!!!
Have heard that Calcutta seems to be catching up too, but not sure of it.

With the kind of fun you are looking forward to, the choice is restricted to the state of Goa, Metro City of Mumbai and the town of Pushkar in Rajasthan.

But do take care of your health, hygiene, pockets and belongings from your own accompanying folks before you start complaining of in the short, medium and long term whenever remembering such visits later on.
