Some people appear to be writing a lot of nonsence, that said you question is not very specific.
Get a visa
Book a flight
Withdraw some money
tellyour bank you will be in India so they do not stop your bank card after your first withdrawl
Take recommended innoculations and buy malaria tablets if you feel you should (I did the first time but never since)
Don't worry about learning Hindi or even the basics nearly everyone speaks some English and there are about 50 different languages there- Hindi, Urdu, Konkani..... so if you want to make an effort then you have to learn a few languages. Namaste (hello/welcome) is a good one as is danyihvad duborakorru and sucrea (thank you- but can't recall which language is which). I have been there any many times and only had minor language issues once
Don't buy anything before you go, you can get nearly all international brands there including Shampoo (head and Shoulders, palmolive.....), tootpaste (colgate) etc at a fraction of the price in the UK. The same applies to malaria tablets, and mosquito repellents
Just get a guide book, and a basic plan of where you want to see and go there. Your plans will change as you will love some places and
more than others
Have fun. I'm off there again in 2 months |

You need to check if you have to get any injections or inoculations - very easy to catch malaria in India, for example.
Check that your passport is valid for long enough. |

- Prepare yourself for a trip which will stay with your for a long time to come.
- Try visiting good travel websites and get information and places to visit, places to see, where to shop etc.
- If you can speak English try talking to local people who look helpful and ask them more. Be a little careful in here, but if you find a genuine person, that'll be a lot of help because localities always know the best deals, places and updates. You can try talking to students, they're always the best catch.
- If you like photography, carry spare memory chips/ batteries etc, because India is a huge canvas or rather a kaleidescope. I would request you not to restrict your image capturing skills ONLY to beggars on the street and weird looking people because such behavior by foreigners is often frowned upon.
- Most importantly enjoy your trip.

Do not read about anything , just go with open mind. But please be very carefull about taxi drivers, random ppl you meet . If possible take a friend with you . Do not go to dodgy places alone . Take all medical things nessessary. Its a vast country and best time is winters , avoid summers at all cost.
Cheers |

If you are asking this question here then you probably have a lot to learn about India. There are too many things to know about than can be listed here. Get a good travel guidebook and read at least the introduction which will list important information about travel, immunizations, documents and health. Avoid Indian government tourism information because it gives too optimistic a view and recommends high priced options.
Read the guide fully and it should also tell you about societal norms, language, and how to avoid scams, which are very common. India is a difficult country if you haven't been around the world much, but there is so much to learn if you are willing to put in the effort. |

learn some words of hindi language like
Yes ="haan"
No="nahi "
and some other basic words ...and also according to the nature of your visit plan beforehand which is true for wherever u r going .
Also for traveling and tourist kinda things always rely on authenticated traveling agencies .
Also for any average city the daytime temperature is 18-20 degrees nowadays so pack accordingly |
