The depth and richness of its cultural heritage, ranging as far back as prehistoric times. There is the food, I have yet to see another cuisine with not only the multidimensional flavor and spice, but the vibrant colors. The religious diversity has always amazed me, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Jains, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, and other religions living together peacefully. The music and dance are unique and the classical forms are amazingly intricate.
There are things that need to be addressed and sorted out (rampant corruption, poverty, etc.) but it's fair to say the good very much outweighs the bad. |

When I think of India, I think of the wonderful experiences I had there many years ago. I still think of all the friendly people I met. One young man said to me that he may not have much, but had a heart the size of a watermelon. |
