when visitin india, u can wear shirts and pants, skirts, etc. but try to keep them less revealing. showing too much cleavage is not really appreciated out here. and in the cities its even more modern. there isn't any compulsion in wearin a sari or anythin else traditional. it would jus make u look ridiculous if u can't carry it off well. but remember, that yr effort will be acknowleged.
moral of the story: casuals are totally fine as long as they aren't revealing... |

I don't know, but wonder the same thing. Should they wear a shawl over their clothing? What is ladylike. I think people should dress for the country they're visiting. |

It depends on where and when you are traveling to India
1.India is extremely hot in Summer, it is good to pack some cotton clothes.
2.The northern part of India is bit cooler during winter, so it is advisable to bring warm clothings.
3.It is important to note that Indians are not used to seeing women in skimpy clothings. Women are advised to dress conservatively and avoid short skirts and sleeveless tops. |

wear anything as long as it is decent.......dh clothes shuld b comfortable....in dh cities dh youth wears Jeans , tops , skirts etc.....if U wanna wear Indain clothes then a Sari of a Kurta is dh best.....believe me...ppl look elegant in a Sari so try tht if U r a gurl |

anything from jeans to Indian Kurta or salwar kameez...Point to note here is that with Indians being progressive in thinking in terms of what one wears, hardly anyone oogles ...But one just need to to know what would be the weather where one is travelling.. Especially now you would find all sort of weather in India...from the chilly cold in the north of india to dusky hot in south of india |
