Bangalore needs better public transport service. Besides, we also needs variations in the bus services. (Not just Majestic, City Market, Shivaji Nagar and Yeshwantpur). More buses (and special buses) could result in more frequency and less overcrowding, which would restore faith on commuters.

Introduction of Mass Rapid Transit System would be a good idea in many areas. It would not be a bad idea to start these services in the Outer Areas as well, since there are more open spaces here and implement them would be more easier than in the main city.

Introduction of Ring Railway would be another suggestion to connect areas like Yelahanka, K. R. Puram, Kengeri, Whitefield, Byappanahalli, Marathahalli would be the immediate solution with the existing railway lines. (These services are quite frequent in Mumbai, as everybody knows, and could be fairly frequent in Bangalore as well).

Also, flyovers at suitable places, especially railway crossings and ring roads would be ideal.

Other than traffic, shifting some of the IT/BT/Other Companies to Bangalore North and Bangalore West could also be mooted, since techies staying in these part of Bangalore dont need to travel long distances to work.

Use office as your home! This way you will avoid traffic.

1.stop using ur own vehicle
2. start early to ur office
3. Follow traffic rules stictly even if other disobey them.
4.Educate ur collegues, friends, relatives, children and others about this.
5.plan ur movements as much as possible like shopping, paying bills, visiting bank, post office etc. Most of the these can be done in one go rather than multiple times in different days or different times in a day.

These applyy not only to Bangalore but all cities

1. Carpooling culture shoud grow.
2. Shifting the house close to office area
3. Metro Rail should be developed at a faster pace.
4. Infrastructure needs has to be addressed by govt.
5. Levying Cess for few special road's users(such as MG Road, Hosur Road). This will make only the company buses to ply on such roads, and private vehicles will stop on these roads.

I lived there for 6 years, but could not find any tangible remedy for the Traffic mess. All seem to have given up .

Bangalore is growing much faster than its infra-structure can support. The development planning , funding and execution are obsolete and lack any futuristic vision. There is hope if the IT-BT sector comes forward to take charge of atleast a few roads which lead to their companies and maintain them **** and span. The other thing that needs to be done is to enforce discipline over all road users. Autos, goods autos and tempos are a few major contributors to slow down and mess up traffice. The people also must shed the attitude of live and let live and adopt sane and safe driving habbits. MRT could be one way to solve the problem if it can materialize amidst the political and bureaucratic manipulations.

bindasmeapu
Mass transport systems, car pooling, also organised vehicle movement is the need of the day.

thinkpose
Movement of traffic in disciplined way can solve the problem to some extend.
