It depends on where you live .
In metros and large cities life is busy,crowded,polluted ..
But, in small towns it is peaceful .

There is a lot of traffic on roads, high population which people from other countries may hate..
there is not a lot of crime as other answerer said.. but it does have a lot of corruption! :(
but in general people are nice.. culture and festivals are great fun!
weather is great .. you don't have to hibernate 4-5 months a year due to cold :) Even if its raining you still have a lot to do!

I have lived in india for a while ...life is not bad in india but u have to be careful coz theres a lot of crime there ...rest of the india is fine and its so beatiful there ...enjoy

Lifestyle and culture in India differs from place to place. Try to find your need, you can find everything in India, you can find the snow covered mountains, tropical rain forests, sandy desert, rivers, hill stations, lonely islands, busy city markets, temples and palaces, wildlife..etc.,
It depends upon where you are, Its not recommend to spend your days in overcrowded sub urban trains if you are not used to it, but you have other options to choose...and enjoy urself.

well. it's a lifetime experience to be there. rich culture and people with crazy weather. lots of cows on the road which is hard to see in other country.but otherwise, india is a country with beautiful sceneries and vast diversification.
