I go to India every year to visit family and, since July, I've been attending college out there. There are quite a few places I'd recommend, depending on what you're looking for out of your vacation.
If you want it to be relaxing and fun, go to Goa. Hands down best beaches and Club Cabana is amazing.
If you want a place full of clubs and movie stars (Bollywood of course), go to Bombay. Shopping there is awesome as well.
If you want the breathtaking view of the Taj Mahal, go to Agra. Very calm place, despite it being such a popular tourist attraction.
If you want a taste of the glorified times of the Kings, go to Rajasthan (meaning, literally, "The Place of the Kings"). The amount of history embedded in every place there is amazing.
And, of course, if you want a rich, ethnic taste of Punjabi culture, visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab. I go every year because it's where my family is, and I love it personally.
These are the only places I'm familiar with in India. Every state has something new and unique to offer, because the cultures are so vastly different.
Hope this helps! |
