What is the difference between people of India and people of Pakistan besides the obvious?

They look similar.

Their food looks similar to you, but there are some differences.

Religiously, 95% + are muslims in pakistan, and they generally do not talk freely about their religion, so do not talk much about their religion unless you become very very good friend. Indians could be any religion, but 70% are Hindu. some of them do not like to talk about their religion, but other might.

Pakistani language is Urdu, while Indian is Hindi. Both arwrittennt differently, but when they speak, 80% is similar.

Since You mentioned that your friend is from Pakistan, In my opinion, first you should try to find out what kind of person she is. Is she conservative? than you need to be very careful. If she belives in freedom, than you can talk to her freely and ask several questions without hesitation.

there's a lot in common, but the language is different, as well as religion. (although there are many muslims in india and a few hindus in pakistan.
culture (except for the religion part) is very much the same; music, movies, food, dress, etc.

though india is a big place and pakistan is more like northern india than southern india. in fact, pakistanis and northern indians can have more in common than northern and southern indians.

none, india and pakistan were once one country, only the divide seperates them, a bit like s/n ireland, and religion, but this is irrelevant, as other religions prevail in both these two countries. whats to offend your friend about, all are the same people. just a north/ south divide. and politics. and another reason to fight

Well the fact they come from different countries might have something to do with it. I don't want to sound like a smarta**e but that's like asking what's the difference between Americans and Canadians or Australians and New Zealanders.

well if you ask me, most people think pakistanies and indians are really simular but, THERE NOT. pakistanis are muslims and have strict muslim laws. unlike the indians, who are free to do what ever they want. wear what ever they want, marry any nationaly and do all the same things as anyone who lives in england or america ect.. unlike pakistanies., who are strict on staying modest, dressing modestly and staying true to their religion, that is the differance if you ask me.

Difference:
1-Islamic Pak. is far better than so called secular India for minorities.
2-Pak. has friendship with all its neighbours, India has problems with all its neighbouring countries and they have fought wars with Pakistan, China, their prime minister killed b/c India was sticking their nose in Sri Lankan issues, they accused Bangladesh for terrorism.
3-Pak. has more handsome men and beautiful women than India.
4-Pak. has a faaaaaaaaar bigger and greater pop music industry.
5-Without films Indian tv is nothing, the only entertainment in India is bollywood in reality, whereas in Pakistan there r others things as well.
6-In India AIDS is far more whereas in Pakistan AIDS is very low in comparison.

I guess the majority of Pakistani people are Muslim, while most Indian people are always either Hindu, Muslim, or Christian. No offense to Pakistani people, but a lot of Pakistani people have unibrows and if they don't have unibrows, the women especially actresses have like perfectly waxed eyebrows or colored eye brows. I don't know!
