Dear

At first there are rules (traffic) that applicable for pedestrians too. But obviously there is a strict rule (but nobody follows) that doesn't allows pedestrians to walk on road!!!

The Roads are intended for vehicles only. Footpaths are there for pedestrians, of course the rule is to walk in the right hand side of the road for pedestrians. Out of 100+ crores, how many are following these rules we don't know... it may be easy to count by fingers....lol

Road crossings should be through the zebra lines only (most of cities, the zebra lines are not there or vanished... lol), there are many pedestrian over bridges & underpasses for walkers, use that. In a road where there is no zebra lines try to safe guard yourself by looking both sides and cross the road.

No drivers (99%) will follows the rules, so take care yourself...
Best of luck
Thx

Same rule which is applicable not only in India, but also in the most parts of the "civilised" World for "while walking on the Road"!

Stay alert always and avoid "walking on the road" (roads are mainly meant for vehicles); if at all you have to walk on the road, be smart enough to save yourself from others mistakes while not committing any mistake yourself.

Rules are in papers.
Pedestrians and vehicle drivers do not follow the rules and never sincere to the law.
Ambulance vehicle too can not save a life.
Public behave like literate COWS

Like any other city, u walk on the foot path. Road cross is allowed only on ZEBRA CROSS. Roads is mend for vehicles only. On emergency with heavy traffic, two wheelers come on foot path also. Hence be constant while walking on foot path also.

Other wise there is no any rule to walk on indian roads.

The above msgs are for city roads. In village road u hv to avoid stray animals, shits, garbage dump so on.

wish u all the best

always walk the right side of the road asper Indian traffic rules

Anne
Be careful. Hang onto your purse. Pray. Do namaskar to all the cows and temples you pass. Don't expect the vehicles to follow any rules, especially motor bikes. Be strong and most of all be aware of the traffic. Don't take too many road crossing risks. If you get used to the country roads you may forget that there are level crossings in cities. Keep your mind in the present.

I still love Jose UC bluea

It is not clear ,whether urban or rural area ! There are some rules in the main cities , like other countries . But there is no hard and fast rule in other area

In India all the person who used the road for walking or morning running or who used to go by walk to adhare the Traffic rules.
Traffic rules are not for vehicle but also for men and human beeing who used th e path.
Every one hase to keep left . Must use the path way maintained by th e local authorities or corporation authorities.
One who not fallowed the rules will face the consequences i n accident.

No rule is the rule for India.Because it is pure Democracy. Everybody has the right to go against the rules

No. its pretty much just walk in the direction the car is going, and stay to one side. (probably the side the car is not on)

Walking on the left is the rule ,as vehicals also move on the left side of the road.In the big cities it is followed while in the smaller towns nobody cares.
