What is the weather like in the north of India during July/August?

Has anyone got any personal experiences of what the weather is like at this time of the year in the north. Is the humidity hard to deal with and does it rain constantly. Only asking as its hard to find in depth info in the guide books as they tend to make out everything's great.

india is a huge country,while raining in one part,other part will be very hot and at another place it will be snowing.
if u can tell which part of north india,then u will get a correct answer.

It is monsoon season, but I found the monsoon tends to travel in a belt going north, so if you start in the Himalayas and then go back to Delhi, you will be travelling before and after the monsoon. To be honest, monsoon season in the city is a relief. It rains every day, but the rain lasts 30-90 minutes and then stops again. Even if you are caught in the rain, you will dry out again within minutes of it stopping and it is more pleasant than travelling in India at its hottest. Rajasthan is beautiful and on the edge of the desert, so no need to worry much about climate change there. Make sure you visit the pink city of Jaipur and the Brahmin temple city of Pushkar, built on a fabulous lake - watch out for the monkeys! India is fascinating. You get used to the travel and the smell quickly and then you fall in love with it. I spent nine months there and still only saw a tiny part of the whole puzzle. Happy travelling!
