1st Precaution - NEVER Use the Train if you are not a regular traveller.
2nd - If at all you have use the train, make sure that you are not in Virar Train ( if you Don't want to go beyond Borivali)
3rd - Make sure that you are not stand on gangway, else people will make you get down at any station.
4th - ( Most Important) Be sure of your Purse, Money and Cell phone.

You should wear rugby clothes along with the helmet. And wear an oxygen mask on your face so you dont get dust. You will be safe.

Try to avoid to travel as far as possible in local trains in Mumbai...It is unsafe now a days...U may hbetter opt for other cheaper modes like shared Taxies,BEST services,Personal vehicle...etc.Life is precious...do not loose it for penny saving...OK

Never peak hours... and I heard... for women avoid to be in empty cars :s

do not board the train in peak hours. try and leave 1 hour before what is really needed. at least let it be half an hour. early. if you are a new user this is is the first precaution
