there is SO much poverty in India that one person can not put the country right & sort out it's problems...it would be nice if we could.
perhaps when you get a job you can have a holiday there...the tourist money helps the local people & when we go...we give a little money to some of the desperate beggars there so that they can eat that day...but there are so many, it is impossible financially to help them all. it is a beautiful country though...we just love it there. we are from the UK. |

Looks like one of your responders here is mixing up India's Indians with America's native Indians...
First thing that comes to mind is find a good child/family sponsorship program. I wouldn't choose the ones that want to convert the kids to other religions though. I have two sponsored kids in different countries. I'm kind of going broke myself, but it still feels good to give what I have. |

Everywhere has problems. India is pretty swell as countries go. I would suggest visiting and then deciding if you need to help them. I think they can get by just fine, but I'll leave that up to you. |

The best thing u can do for Indians is to help curve the social misconceptions people have about them locally. For the time being that is if you want to further that after college that would be a diffrent issue. But ideas with out power are just that; powerless ideas. |

Find out where they need help. Contact the Ambassador or Embassy to India. Jesus said "Feed, clothe, do good to them ... as you have done it to the least of these, so you have done it to Me." Consider all the ways you would like to help them. You have unique gifts that may just suit some group or some person over there. God bless you. Our church gave $400,000 to build a large building to house Indian women and teach them skills so they may support themselves without having to revert to prostitution. There are many good things to do. I liked the movie "Slumdog Millionaire" which shows India and Indian culture like it is ... I think they are very loving and warm people. God bless them. May God send missionaries to bring the Good News of salvation found in Jesus Christ. |
