Summary of recommendations: For Travelers to India
All travelers should visit either their personal physician or a travel health clinic 4-8 weeks before departure.
Malaria: Prophylaxis with Lariam, Malarone, or doxycycline is recommended for all areas, except for areas at altitudes >2,000 m (6,561 ft) in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir, and Sikkim.
Vaccinations: Hepatitis A
Recommended for all travelers
Typhoid
Recommended for all travelers
Polio
One-time booster recommended for any adult traveler who completed the childhood series but never had polio vaccine as an adult
Yellow fever
Required for all travelers arriving from or transiting through a yellow-fever-infected area in Africa or the Americas. Not recommended otherwise.
Japanese encephalitis
For long-term (>1 month) travelers to rural areas or travelers who may engage in extensive unprotected outdoor activities in rural areas, especially after dusk
Hepatitis B
For travelers who may have intimate contact with local residents, especially if visiting for more than 6 months
Rabies
For travelers who may have direct contact with animals and may not have access to medical care
Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
Two doses recommended for all travelers born after 1956, if not previously given
Tetanus-diphtheria
Revaccination recommended every 10 years |

it depends on where and when you are going, but in general, get boosters for the usual. mmr, tetanus, dpt, etc.
get hep a and if you can affford it get hep b, because it protects you at home for life too.
get japanese encephalitis if you're going to be in the jungle or in the monsoon.
do NOT get any malaria drugs. they are not worth it.
you don't need the rabies shots unless you're going to be working with animals.
you don't need yellow fever, that's not for india. |

um i would get a flu shot cuz a lot of people have it there...... also if u dont like bugs i would get some bug repellent cuz theres tons of bugs.... and i think that is about it
well i take that back..... if u r alergic to bees than get a shot 4 that, kay i guess thats it

I would like suggest to you that you should contact to a tour agency/company for your India trip for best trip arrangement.
I would recommend a tour agency http://www.iconindiatours.com because i have recently return from india to my vacation trip, the all tour was perfect managed by above company.
