One of the things Bangalore is famous for is Tipu Sultan's Palace. It is a must see especially during Dusherra ( a Hindu festival ) when it is lit up and there is a procession with elephants etc.
Actually places around Bangalore like Mysore have a lot of historical monuments.
In and around Bangalore there are a couple of water falls, dams, botanical gardens with musical fountains. There is a wild life sanctuary too you.
Don't miss the Silkworm farms.

To tell about disadvantages first, the Bangalore is ill famous for traffic jams, crowded malls, narrow roads and cheating auto drivers. The advantages are superb weather, friendly - peace loving - truly cosmopolitan people, greenery etc. etc.
Since there are too many one ways, it is advisable to take a local person with you, when you go out. There are many places of interest such as ISCKON temple, Mahalakshmi Temple, Tippu sultan's palace, Bangalore Palace, Lalbagh(botanical garden) Cubbon Park, Bull Temple, Vidhana Soudha( State Secretariat), Nandi Hills(around 50 Kms from Bangalore - towards north).
The other places of interest around Bangalore are:-
1) Ranganatittu - boating& bird sanctuary ( on Bangalore -Mysore high way )
2) Srirangapattana (Temple) - on Bangalore-Mysore high way(110 Kms from Bangalore) also Daria Daulat - wooden palace of Tipu Sultan.
3) Bluff (it is also called as Shivana Samudra )- two waterfalls - Gaganachukki & Bharachukki about 100 Kms from Bangalore.
4)Sravanabelagola - huge 57ft. monolithic statue of Gomateswara - a jain piligrimage place - 120 Kms from Bangalore.
5) Shivagange - 70 Kms from Bangalore on Bangalore-Tumkur High way.
Hope you carry good memories of Bangalore when you go back. All the best. |

I have lived in Bangalore and it is a horrible place. You cannot go out in the open air. Go to indoor places like the hotels, good chinese resturaunts and then you will have a good taste of Bangalore. |
