Kartavya itself is paramkartavya. there are no superlative degrees for kartavya. In lose tense it is "duty'. If no duty is fixed also by anybody you have your duty at times. Eg, to save a life/to help disposing of a dead body (animals/birds also); helping the deserved when you can.. etc.For eg you are appearing for some exams. You are not thorough in some subjects and you are afraid and prayed to the god several times. Before the God showers His blessings you have to write the exams. that is your duty. duty first and then expect the blessings. Scriptures say if you do your duty the God will shower His blessings. Those blessings need not necessarily satisfy your interests immediately yet you should continue to do your duties. The Lord Krishna preached this Kartavya to the great warrior Arjuna amidst battleield when the latter wanted to drop off his bow & arrow for fear of killing his own family members in the war. The crux of the preaching is, if I am not over-simplifying it--Do your duty, I will take care of the rest. Do not think that you are doing everything..you are just instrumental in doing your kartavya. Therefore kartavya is pious, obligatory and unquestionable and we are duty-bound to simply DO it.

If it is in Office the your duties are listed. In day-to-day life no such definite list is available for all, everywhere. If you think and your consciousness says it is your duty just do it where there are no explicit mention of the kartavya. In case of doubt/dilemma ask you gurus/elders/consult scriptures and the bent of mind should always be towards DOING and not in ABSTINANCE from it.
