ok. a history question. But, it seems like a current question. we got freedom from British and the ruled british already left india. we got freedom from 15th august, 1947. But, actually it is the exact date 26th january, 1950 where the british left india. we came republic on that date. Though we got freedom from the british on 15th aug 1947, we become republic on 26th january, 1950. There was a lean with british from 15th aug 1947 to 25th january, 1950 until we made republic officially.
Now...a fun answer.....the british will leave india, when we leave british. |

the leaving of the british allowed for part of india to become a new country called "pakistan"
india recieved independance from the british on august 15, 1947
...
pakistan recieved independence from the british on august 14, 1947
...
there was an east pakistan and a west pakistan
...
i think in the 70's or something east pakistan became "bangladesh"
