When I was seven. I got lost in the hotel in Blackpool, and I was running around crying because I thought I'd be lost forever.

Fortunately, a maid found me and took me to the reception desk, where my nan was waiting.

So, if I get panicked about being lost in a hotel, I probably wouldn't fare well walking around for hours in a field.

Um...Dougal, why are you in India? In a place I can't pronounce?

Years ago I was in the RAF in Malaysia.
Malaysia`s jungle covers thousands and thousands of miles.
One day I strolled off on my own into the jungle - and GOT LOST.
As you can imagine, one tree (or path) looks very like another in the jungle. I can remember my growing panic. I did get back to camp, but more by luck than judgement, it was just beginning to go dark too!

Love is never going to bed angry
We were lost from each other; divided by miles... but never emotionally...we found each other when it was meant to be.

I got lost in woods once but I had such a hangover I would gladly have died there, it was very frightening as it was near to the falls and slippery. Got lost in Paris once and learned to read maps as I had to, no Francs, no boyfriend - we fell out, so I had to get back somehow to the 11th arondisement by myself. Horrifying to be lost in a city. xxxxx Where on earth are you listening to confessions now Father?

I remember when you got really really lost, in the caves with Ted...but then you ran into Father Noel and company. But sure, then your sweater became unthreaded and you just about found your way out. Whatever happened to Noel anyways?

A couple of years ago, driving home from Newcastle at 2am.
i actually pulled up and asked these really,REALLY drunk men, where I was....they looked at each other and then said 'York, isn't it?'
I really got them worried too!

Needless to say I did find the right way and got home 2 hours later...

Three years ago my wife and I were hiking in northern New Mexico. We were just north of Chaco Canyon in the Bisti Badlands. Fortuantely, it was in September and not too hot during the day. In mid summer it can easily get over 100 degrees here. We became very disoriented and, despite my boy scout training, became hopelessly lost. The Bisti Badlands look like the surface of the moon. There were no mountains in this part of the state to use as a guide. We spent one night and most of the next day before we were rescued by the NM State Police who were using a helicopter.

I have never been so happy to see a cop in all my life!!!

Great question!

a couple of years ago driving home from my boyfriends house. it was the first time i had been there, and the ride was supposed to take about 20 minutes.....instead it managed to to take me 90 mins to get home!!! i went round several villages, and just got really panicky that i would never get home - then i found a route i had been down years ago with my parents, when i was a passenger, and managed to get my way home again.

In North Wales with the satellite system which decided of its own accord to take us round the Republic of Ireland. I wanted to chuck it out the car window but then we came across a signpost wich helped no end.
