surely, it is a developed nation after 22 years. i assure you that it will be a developed nation after 22 years.

To achieve development, a leader is needed. That leader should know the pulse of the people. you asked a best question when would india will be a developed nation.. i answer now.

see, we need a responsible leader. who, indeed is a good political leader? A good political leader's fingers are the on the pulse of the people.he represents. He leads all the way, always a step in front. He is democratic in decision-making but dictatorial in implementation. in ordinary matters, he swims with the current but in matters of principle he stands like a rock. He has merit, integrity, intelligence, initiative, commonsense, courage and also a subtle sense of humour. if we have such a leader, such a political leader, india will develope soon. To be frank with you, we may not love politicians, but we like democracy because it is the only political system which is consistent with justice. we can achieve development, and the people should not be attracted by the political parties, but in india politics attracts the interest of more people than in any other country. If this attitude change, we will become a developed country.

when it can redress th abysmal amount of its people living rough on it's cities streets, when all who are working are paying taxes that should go to help the poor, when they kick out the corrupt people who represent these people and not lining their own pockets and getting rich. omg,, a mobile phone, means India is developed?. get real. India got, government help for the unemployed? no. till India gets it's population down.. and all its people on par with the rest of the world{ well not just india, China also} at least india is a democratic country , with freedom of speech,, Not like China. i think the Olympics have been good for chinese people, opened up the world for them

well india as we know is a SLOW developing country and is not going to develop really soon it may take it time as lik 20 to 40 or even more years as itz population is also increasing it is becoming difficult for the government to start new programms so they are continuing with the old ones even because of illeteracy there is less development.

i dont think it ever will be coz it's government is too corrupt. it needs to kick out the bad politicians and make proper laws that the people actually follow. i think too many people are not educated enough. for example: the government tells indians to have less kids and use birth control...but birth control is expensive for many people...then the indians say to the government "we are a free nation, you cant tell us what to do. we can have as many kids as we want. we are not like china."
the bottom line is this: too many people against the government and the government is too corrupt and backward.

Considering that India has an incredible education system and has a population growth on par with China, I would consider India to be a deveoped country overall. Have you ever called a toll free number for customer service - most of those calls are being answered in India.
