Depends on which region you wish to travel.

North India : September-November as rains stop and winter sets in slowly
South India : July-January as there is no Summer's heat

Himalayas & Hillstations : March-August. Best time to enjoy the hills.

Ofcourse each region/city has a different "Best Time". So if u can narrow your question down, probably could help u more..

Depends on where u r from.....
If u r from a cold country..ull find the heat intolerable...so better not visit in the summers.

India is complete fun all the year round...trust me.

Just make sure u do ur homework on it....
even if u dont ull find enough helpful sould on ur way!!

Hotels depend on ur budget...ull fing great 5stars like Taj nd the Oberoi. Then there also the not so gud on the road hotels in INdia. Just make sure u choose a clean place.

Its difficult to pin point hotels, functions nd events bcoz it bieng such a huge country...u just cant.

But dere is smthing for everyone here...

Like all have said in India u have so much to do and its all different... so first u decide as to which part of India u wanna vist, then check on other infos like climates, stuffs to do, where to stay etc... if u r happy with wat u r heading to... go with it.

We all say this coz... the traditions are so different and so many. Place to stay wont be a problem for u... u have plenty to choose from.. 5* to anything to suit ur budget.

And then wat to attend... if u have any close friends or someone.... see if any of their known peron is getting married or so.. so u get to see an Indian marriage. Orelse also there are so many festivals in India. Its like one every month.

So Just put up a Q as to when u r going, where exactly u r going and wat r u looking for?

Iam sure u will find ur answer then.

The best time to travel I'd say would be between October and December because by then you'd have escaped the heat wave. January and February are also good times!
Regarding hotels..its quite hard to advise you on that since you haven't mentioned which cities you're planning to visit..India's a big country!!! lots to attend..the cultures are diverse..so you're bound to have a wonderful treat no matter which city you're in! happy travelling!

At first I welcome you to India from my heart. India is a big country. At first you have to decide where do you want to travel. India has rich nature. It has Hill, Mountain, Plain, Sea, Desert, Jungle. And above all we have rich Indian culture. Different place have different culture.
So far best time is concerned as per my opinion it is October to February. There after summer will come. And the summer of maximum part of India is very bad. Specially those who comes from western countries.
And about hotels I tell you that you will enjoy your vacation in India as per you pocket. You can go to Five/seven Star Hotel like Oberai, ITC Chain Hotel, Taj Chain Hotel or you can go other middle or low budgeted hotels.
Please come in India and find the rich culture and heritage of India. Thank You.

The best time to travel to India depends on what all you want to do in India. If you want to just visit the big cities and historical monuments like the Taj, the best time is October through February when the weather is very pleasant.
