There is a business that markets over the Internet called Chennai Silks. They have a local showroom in Chennai which is listed on the link below. They have a wedding collection, which would be of course something appropriate for an Indian style bride. If you are looking for a Western style dress, you would have to find a local business that caters to Western tastes.

i bought my bridal ghagra at moksha... if you want classy clothes , try one of these

Moksha - Opp.Stell Maris College , Nungambakam
Manmandir - Khader Nawaz Khan Road - near Mocha cafe`
Pitambri - not sure of the adress... somewhere in Nungambakam
Roshanlals also Opp. Stell Maris , Nungambakam or Mount Road
Varsidhi - Hoardings are up all over the city , can find the adress there
Gotewalas - Near nescafe` in Cathedral Road
there is also another new shop very close to Gotewals ... cant recall the name...
Nungambakkam has a number of nice shops where you can shop for a bridal dress... good luck :) tk

Are you looking for a sari or a lehanga or a bridal gown? For south Indian silk saris, Nalli, Kumarans and RMKV in T Nagar are the best bets. For lehengas/ satin, zardosi, benarasi saris, try Moksh on Cathdral road, Roshanlals on Mount Road, the shop next to the Income Tax Dept. on Nungampakkam High Road(its name starts with M, and I can't remember!) and Rangeela near Parrys. Bridal gowns, am not sure, but u could find try Spencers/ ask any parishioner at Santhome.

Whatever you purchase, make sure you have the blouse et al stitched in advance and try it on atleast one week before and get any alterations that may be required. Also check the color of the dress in the light you would be getting marrried in, meaning in daytime, night etc.

All the best!
