October is fine in India. And this year it is even better. Is not hot,or rainy, but is warm.
Kovalam Beach in Kerela is perhaps the best. Lots to see around. And backwaters too.
Lashwadeep is off shore after (I'd suggest ) a flight or boat ride across the Ocean.
Think 29C is the Temp. 40C is 100F.
You could check the temperature and map and more here:

Goa is also on the West coast. It is also a good Holiday place. Warm here too.
If you go to the East coast, India has the Marina Beach of Madras. But city is crowded.
Pondicherry, further down is beautiful too.
Is a good place.
Gopalpur-on-Sea is another.
But foreign tourists like Goa and also Kovalam. |

Goa has some nice beaches. Check out Ashwem or Vagator in the north and Utorda or Benaulim in the south.
Check with the lifeguards for possible undercurrents before venturing into the sea as the sea can be unsettled at times at monsoons end.
The monsoons are almost over. No rains right now but can expect the occassional shower or two.

All the beaches are good. Goa has the maximum number of beaches. If you want a nice and a calm beach try visiting Gopalpur beach in orissa. It is approx 20 Kms from Bhramapur in orissa. Gopalpur beach is famous for crab dishes. |

India has a huge coastline with many picturesque beaches, so it all depends on what you are upto. You can expect a warm, humid weather, clear skies most ot the times with occassional rains. Goa is too crowdy for me, but is a good destination if one is looking beyond the sun, sand and the sea. I have a passion for the beaches but I need my privacy also. I found the beaches in the Andaman and Nicobar islands (Indian teritorry, in the bay of bengal) perfect for me. Goa, Kovalam (it boasts black sand beaches and a number of Ayurvedic spas) and Varkala beaches in Kerala and Karnataka and Orissa has some of the most popular beaches in india. If you are into scuba diving, Laksha Dweep or the Andamans are the best bet.
Enjoy. |
