Where is the best place for a mixed race couple to live in or around Delhi?

I am a white American who will be moving to Delhi to marry my Nepali fiancee. He already lives in Uttam Nagar, but once I arrive we plan to relocate. What is a good, upscale area that is safe for a white woman to settle in? We are considering Noida, but I would like imput from locals on other options as well. I hope to find an apartment for rent in a clean, cosmopolitan neighborhood, where the people around us will be accepting of a mixed race couple and young blonde foreigner like me! Thank you!
Additional Details
We cannot affornd any more than 20,000 rs per month of rent, but would prefer to keep it down around 15,000 rs. Hope that helps!

Anywhere as long as it is in South Delhi. Gurgaon is also in full expansion. It is slowly but surely becoming a suburb of New Delhi and is also situated South.
You won't have any problem being accepted. I am European and I felt free to go everywhere, alone or accompanied, without any problem.
I have friends living in Noïda and they are very happy. If I am not mistaken there is a kind of "express highway/bridge" that makes the link Noïda-Delhi faster.
Gurgaon and Noïda are not that far from Delhi.

My suggestions :
1) Once you arrive, become a member of ACSA, you'll get to meet people of different origins including Indian citizens. You'll probably get a kind of booklet on "How to settle in your new environment",
The members will be able to give you all the feedback and info you need e.g. where to live, where you will have a 24 h water/electricity supply, where you can have a generator because some places do not allow them because of the noise unless you have the new insulated type, etc...

2)
Make a list of questions and do not feel shy about asking them to any Indian/expat you meet.

3)
If you want to be active and make friends rapidly, then it is better to live somewhere in Delhi or South Delhi, Noïda or Gurgaon where you will be able to interact with the Indian community as well as with your own or other expat communities.

4) If you want an appartment, try to go for the top level floor because your intimacy and sleep may suffer as Indians are generally quite loud, living to the fullest.

5)
Your own community is well represented too :
ACSA - American club -,
AWA - American Women Association,
AES - International School basically American- ,
American Embassy, Roosevelt House,etc..

It is good and vital to immerge oneself in the local culture but -once in a while - you'll feel like/need to meet with people of your own community.
I gave you more info than asked but i have been a kind of "unofficial consultant" while living in India.

Keep a positive mind attitude and you will have no problem finding the right place for your new lovenest as well as making lots of friends.
Good luck and best wishes.

depends on how much u can afford to pay. if the person is already living in uttam nagar, the paying capacity wont be much, that is why the person is in that locality. tell how much of rent per month u can affort and will suggest the best place for both of you

Anywhere. India is not such complexed country as you are thinking about. Forget that you are a white. If you decided then you have to change your thinking, adjust with people of India (it seems you have no idea about Indians).

NOIDA is good, if you can spend more then south Delhi may be your next choice.

First See your budget and then select location. Delhi is a costly city. Uttam Nagar is filled with lower middle and poor classes and is not a good location.

If you need I can help you further.

NOIDA is a good choice

Vasant Kunj is definitely an area you can consider.....I am sure you can find a decent flat for around 15 grand.....and it is a fairly nice area as well.....specially considering how close it is to South Delhi but still not as expensive as say Vasant Vihar or Greater Kailash.....
