it actually depends on your mood. if you're a beach person and looking for rocking 31st dec then go to goa. Or if you're looking for a quite and beautiful surroundings then head off to amboli. amboli is a nice hill station in regional maharashtra.

Everywhere popular like Goa, Lonavla, Khandala, Mahabaleshwar will be full up if you dont book soon enough. If you like nature, try Bhimashankar or Malshej Ghat these places are at elevations and nice even in winter - most people prefer monsoons. But there will not be any entertainment if thats what you are looking for. Amboli near Sawantwadi is also nice but its not near Pune. I believe Koynanagar is also nice. Good luck.
