I've flown Air France several times and it's never been a good experience. They were rude, and lost my luggage (twice). The food was bad, and unless you speak French, it's real hard to understand many of the the attendants, and sometimes the directions of the pilot. Air France always seems to be in the middle of some kind of contract negotiations and are subject to cancel at any time. The only good food that I've had on any airline was in First Class. In coach you are better off taking your own food.
I've never had any problems with NWA. You can call the airlines and ask about leg room. It depends on what type of aircraft you'll be traveling on, and that might depend on a lot of factors like the time of day you travel and the route (connections, etc).
Also, ask it you can choose your seat ahead of time. The best seat would be the last row of exit row seats. The exit row is wider and if you are in the last exit row, you can recline, but the exit row in front of you can't. To get an exit row seat you must be over the age of 16 (FAA rules) (this might vary with airlines), and "be able and willing to help with the emergency door if needed". Another option is the "Bulk Head" seats. This is the very first row, and some airlines reserve it for people with disabilities, but sometimes you can get it ahead of time. (sometimes they release them to the general public the day before travel). The problem with the bulk head seat is that the tray usually comes out of the armrest and goes across the lap, which is something that I personally don't like. Also, there is no seat in front of you to put your stuff under, so you have to use the overhead bins for everything. Hope that helps. |

I would select Air France anytime! Their service is great and the food is the best that the airline industry has to offer.
No, I don't work for them and I don't even know anyone who does... but I must say that after years of flying, Air France is definitely my favorite airliine!!
