Visit kovalam beach...varkala beach is not very far away....the padmanabha swamy temple...the zoo,museum & napier museum(all in da same compound r gr8 places 2 spend a day)...be sure 2 visit ponmudi hills...tvm isnt exactly a big tourist centre...these r da main places....u can visit kanyakumari as well...it's less than 2 hours away

you must visit zoo first than it wont feel disappointed when you visit all other places and meet all kind of people around.
zoo is neat and clean most of the animals are good.

SRI PADMANABHASWAMI TEMPLE : The temple, located near the bus stand at East Fort, is the city's most impressive landmark
SANKUMUGHAM BEACH : This palm-fringed beach near the airport, with its indoor recreation club and children's traffic training park is fine for an outing-though not for swimming
VELI TOURIST VILLAGE : This picnic spot, where the Veil Lake meets the Arabian Sea, offers boating facilities. The most common attraction about Trivandrum is the Kovalam beach

Another landmark is the Padbhanabha swami temple which is a must visit lace for worshippers. The other temple where worshippers visit is the Attukal temple famously known for its pongala puja (prayer)

The other main attraction at Trivandrum is the Veli lake and Ponmudi hills which is a perfect place to spend a days time.
