Abhi .
If you are a nature lover, Jammu Kashmir tops the chart. But, if adventure is your cup of tea, I'll suggest you to go for Himachal Pradesh. History buffs must visit places in Rajasthan (including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer etc.). Destinations in the above mentioned states are purely meant to admire natural beauty and to try out the rarest of adventure sports.

I'll suggest you to please go through the below mentioned links:

I am from London and I found North India is amazing..... I hired a driver from Delhi for my whole trip, I you would like his details you can email me. He was really knowledgeable, reliable, honest and kind and reasonably priced. He suggested our whole trip.

I find it better and more economic arranged a driver from and getting hotels as you go, you time is your own, not having to follow a tour grip and you get to see places that you wouldn't in a group.
Wherever you want to go your driver will take you.

The places we visited where:
Corbet National Park - A MUST see http://www.corbettnationalpark.com/
Taj - absolutley astounding
Shimla - great history and breath taking scenery - take a trip on the toy train - you won't miss out on the best bits.
Rishikesh - fantastic aryuveda and yoga
Haridwar - amazing puja on the ganges
Nainital - great scenery and people
Palampur - fantastic
Chandigarth - great treking
Dharamsala (home to the Dalai lama and exiled tibetans) - the best place I have EVER been in my life! - you won't want to leave.
Manali - white water rafting & snow boarding
Kulu - treking

It was truely memorable.

Happy happy travels.
