Mahabaleswar would be the best option I believe.The scenic beauty is awesome.You can also visit nearby places like Panchgani(it has the largest plateau-the table land),Palangkhet, the fort of Shivaji @Pratapgarh, the river Krishna..
However make it sure to book your hotel previously to avoid the rush..Bon Voyage!

from vadodara i encumbering is good Coz u can go by train to kalyan & from ther to karzat then depends upon ur mood to hike to matheran or can take famous trine then there are few good veg lough & lot of points to explore so u can enjoy there freely

i personally love mahableshwar for its climate and it reallys gives you a good break for the hectic life of city. Its got some really good resorts, the lake with its boating and horse riding are good as well..

Mahabaleshwar is the best. Also many tour operators operate from Vadodra to this place. You will enjoy. Its a bit expensive though.
