i'm not sure what flies into pune, but as for shear quality, i would go with SwissAir, BritishAirline, Quantus, or Luftansa.

For flights in the continental US, you can't beat Southwest for the price and the service. No first class, and the first one to sign in on flight day gets first pick as to where to sit. For international flights, Luftansa (German owned) is an excellent airline with a perfect flight record. For most airports in it's itinerary, Virgin takes the blue ribbon. Remember, cheapest is not always best or safest.
