One of the Best Places to Do River Rafting is around Rishikesh in Uttranchal state. Very highly rated and not expensive. 2 day 1 night camping with all meals and about 26 km white water rafting can be easily done in less than 2000 INR ( $ 45.00 )

the best destination is of course the himlayas.. if you are really adventurous and have a gr8 deal of time go for a laddakh trip . wud be a life changing experience....
