Beat your Honeymoon Heat in chilling weather of Darjeeling or Ooty. Darjeeling is around 575km north of Calcutta, is one of the main hill stations in India. It has a good atmosphere and some great mountain views. The air is usually cool and windy out there also it is famous as being the place where some of the best teas in the world are grown.

How to get there:-

First you have to go to New Jalpaiguri, if you were in Kolkatta then take a following train from Sealdah Railway Station:
2343 DARJEELING MAIL
Leave SEALDAH 22:05 Reach NEW JALPAIGURI 08:15 Next Morning
Fare 2nd AC Rs. 957/- 3rd AC Rs. 684/- & Sleeper Rs. 263/- per person
From New Jalpaiguri you have to change train i.e. TOY TRAIN (Narrow Gauage Train) that will leave station only when the above mentioned train reach New Jalpaiguri. So Don't worry if the above mentioned train gets late, Both trains are interconnected.
Train to Darjeeling as follow:

1D NJP DJ NG TRAIN
Leave NEW JALPAIGURI 09:00AM Reach DARJEELING 15:55PM (It is an interesting trip, The first-class coaches have large windows so you can get a good view, the train has been on World Heritage Site as listed by UNESCO)
Fare First Class Rs. 274/- Second Seating Rs. 42/-

Other very good Honeymoon Option is BANGALORE - MYSORE - OOTY
route to ooty is as follow
First go to Bangalore then bangalore to mysore & Mysore to ooty.

If you want to go to by Toy train then the route is as follow:-
1. Reach Chennai
2. Chennai to metupaliyam ( 2671 NILAGIRI EXP Leave Chennai Central 21:00PM reach Metupaliyam 06:15 Next morning)
3. Metupaliyam to Ooty (662 MTP UAM PASSR (Narrow Gauge train) Leave Metupaliyam 07:10AM reach Udagamandalam (Ooty) 12:00 Noon
2671 Nilgiri Express & 662 Mtp Uam Passenger are interconnected. 2nd train will leave only after arrival of Nilgiri Exp.
4. OOTY to Mysore (By BUS or TAXI) Mysore is very beautiful city to see,
5. From Mysore to Bangalore. Very Neat & Clean City having lots of Big Malls

Shrinagar or Pahalgam is the best. Stay in a houseboat in Shrinagar and surf the dull lake by a boat. Gulmarg and Sonmarg give you the best pleasure of honeymoon.
