If you are only going for a short time, Goa would be a good bet. In my opinion, Goa is like "India Lite". It is the place to go after you have been in India proper for a while, and need to get away from some of the insanity.
My first wife was Indian, from East of Mumbai. We went to Bangalore and Goa, and had a great time in both places. New Delhi was also a good time, as was Mumbai (Then Bombay), but if either of you is not into hardcore traveling, it may add stress to your honeymoon.
First pick for me would be Goa, especially if it is the first time going for either of you. However, I would suggest flying into Mumbai and spending a day or two there first, then taking the train to Goa.
It's a great place. With the exception of the failed marriage, I have only fond memories of my time there. |
