It really depends how much time you have at hand. The whole of Kerala is extremely well organised for the tourist. Trivandrum is a good centre for Kovalam / Vizhinjam beaches - Neyyar WLS and Dam - Ponmudi Hill Station - Padmanabhapuram - Kanyakumari circuit - allow 3 - 4 whole days. Ernakulam is a good starting point for the Fort Cochin - Thattekad WLS -Munnar hill station - Thekkady Periyar WLS - Allepey - Kumarakom backwaters circuit - allow 4-5 days, also Guruvayoor, Thrissur visits possible. Calicut/Kozhikode is a good starting point for the Ayurveda/Palghat - Kadalundi resort - Wynad hill district circuit: allow 4-5 days. If one has 2 weeks, one can see the whole of Kerala including lesser known places like Parambikulam WLS, Nelliyampathy etc. Kerala is good value, good food, polite locals, relatively safe and well organised - provided there are no strikes called by political parties . |

Kerala is today known as 'God's own country. I would say Kerala is just like the phrase suggests. Kerala is situated on the south-western part of the Indian peninsula. The land has along coastlines which is dotted with small islands. These islands are surrounded by backwards, which give Kerala its own unique identity, district from the rest of India. The state of Kerala has everything which a tourist craves for - you name it and it has got it! Waterfalls, rivers, mountains, forests, lake, wild life sanctuaries and above all, the sea beaches make Kerala a traveler's paradise.
Tourism is a major industry of this state and hence, it is nothing but obvious that great care has been taken to cater the needs of both domestic and international tourists. Guided tours to various tourist destinations are extremely popular. Some of these places include Jew Town (the only Jewish settlement in India) situated in the Ernakulam district, Periyar wildlife sanctuary which is a nature lover's treat, the Athirapally waterfalls and the world famous Kovalam beach near Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala and Munnar the charismatic hill station near Idukki in Kerala.. The canoe rides on the backwaters are something that no tourist should miss! The reason why a traveler should visit the place is many. A part from the scenic beauty, the state boasts of hundreds of hotels (budgeted hotels, three - stars, 5 stars along with guest houses). Kerala is connected to all parts of India through rail, roadways and airways. It also has an international airport. The traveler can also visit the place to undergo ayurvedic treatment for various ailments. Apart from that, Kerala offers a variety of cuisines to cater to the different taste buds. All in all Kerala is a tourist's paradise. |

There are lot of spots in kerala.it is very hard to say which is best.backwater will be i think the best option. For that alappuzha will be better.so you can explore the beuty of Cochin also.Lot many sexy beaches are there.varkala will provide you a high view from cliff. Also kovalam. In kollam lot many beaches and backwater resorts are there.you can also find the marvellous hill stations such as moonnar, peermedu, vagamon ,ponmudi,Wynadu etc.also explore through wild life sancturies such as periyar ,Thekkady,Neyyar etc.Or try for some tree top huts in wynadu......Moonnar will be excellent with greenary of tea plants.anyway kerala's brand abssador is beach and backwater. Dont forget to take a boat ride through enchanting backwaters...... |
